Who is Team Bulldog/Campmor?
Team Bulldog/Campmor is more than just a racing team. In the past 15 years, we’ve grown from a group of junior racers (under 18) to a well-established team that includes men and women of all ages and abilities. With 25 members on our current roster, new members join our ranks on a regular basis. Team Bulldog/Campmor prides itself on our commitment to our sport, our community and the environment.
Team Bulldog/Campmor has continued its tradition of excellence through quality and diverse competition with our 2005 racing calendar. Throughout the year, Bulldog/Campmor Racers were out on the competitive circuits from April through November, many times at different events on the same day and many back-to-back dates (for a total of 91 racing days!). As mentioned before, we are a team that is very proud of our contributions to the sport through trail advocacy, race promotion, junior development, and community programs. However, we are indeed a racing team and make our presence known on the race courses. We believe in quality racing as opposed to just quantity, and this is reflected in the events and our resumes. For 2006 we look forward to racing in even more quality events!
Giving Back to our Sport:
Team Bulldog/Campmor is actively involved in the Campmor H2H Regional Mountain Bike Series, promoting and improving the cross-country mountain bike racing forum in our region. Our Annual Bulldog/Campmor Rump served as the fourth race of the Campmor Series and draws racers from all across the Tri-State area and beyond. This year, the Bulldog/Campmor Rump will also be on the National AMBC calendar, a huge step forward for Team Bulldog/Campmor. Our Spring race, The Annual Running of the Dogs is an event uniquely geared towards bringing new racers to the sport.
Giving back to the community:
For the third straight year, members of Team Bulldog/Campmor volunteered their time to participate in Green Township’s Summer Day Camp for children in grades Kindergarten through fifth. Important topics, such as bike safety and care, were taught to the campers. Cycling as a sport was also addressed with the older children. Sponsors of Team Bulldog/Campmor generously donated number plates, medals and stickers for the children and they were thrilled with it. They enjoyed seeing the Team Bulldog/Campmor members in their uniforms and parents duly noted our sponsors.
Giving back to the environment:
Fulfilling a long-standing tradition of giving back to the trails where we ride and race, Team Bulldog/Campmor contributes hundreds of hours of trail maintenance each year. In the past several years we have donated nearly 2,000 hours of trail maintenance and creation to the parks of New Jersey. As a team, we were an integral part of opening Kittatinny Valley State Park to mountain biking and have adopted this park to care for its trails. Team Bulldog/Campmor also helped restore mountain biking to Waywayanda State Park after a six-year hiatus. Mountain Creek Ski Resort, Vernon, NJ, was also re-opened to mountain biking with a cross country trail system created primarily through the efforts of Team Bulldog/Campmor. We are proud that our sponsors are associated with our works throughout the state.
Affiliations:
As an official United States Cycling Federation (USCF) member, Team Bulldog/Campmor promotes races annually in the four-race Augusta Cyclocross Race Series, including the New Jersey State Championship Cyclocross Race. With our mountain biking background, we bring a special element to the cross scene, as well as some new competitors. Team Bulldog/Campmor is also a member of NORBA (National Off-Road Bicycle Association), IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association), NJBA (New Jersey Bicycle Association), and USCF (United States Cycling Federation).
