- What is the most and least number of hours that you train in
a week? (Not zero but the least number of hours you actually train)
Least 2, Most Between 5 and 8 hours
- Name your favorite XC and/or DOWNHILL race course?
I have only done two MTB races and Fair Hill was the best. I hear Michaux is challenging and I am looking forward to racing there.
- Name your favorite place to ride:
Rocky Mountains Aspen, Colorado. My favorite trails were Government, Sunnyside and Four Corners to Lenado. The margaritas and burgers at the Woody Creek tavern after the trip to Lenado were a bonus. Moab runs a very close second.
- What is the longest distance or number of hours that you have
ridden XC in one day on a mountain bike? (EXCLUDING A 24 OR 12 HOUR RACE
unless SOLO!)
It was a short trip of 11 miles from Aspen to Crested Butte, but it took about 6 hours due to the 6000 ft of climbing. After spending the night at Crested Butte, we rode back the next day.
- How much of your training is on the road?
Most has been on the road. However, one or two rides a week are on the trails.
- Do you cross train or use weights?
Sometimes. I am not consistent.
- Do you use supplements or sport drinks?
Gatorade and mystery pills from my boyfriend.
- Do you do anything special (besides the whole training
lifestyle) to prepare for an important race?
Not yet!
- Do you use a heart rate monitor?
Yes, only during training.
- Do you keep a training log?
No.
- What do you consider your strong points on a race course,
hills, technical sections, downhills?
Technical sections even though I fall a lot Cyclocross taught me how to remount quickly.
- What aspect of mountain biking is the most fun for you?
Riding with the Wooden Wheels team and meeting new people.
- What is your greatest moment (biggest rush) that you have
experienced on your MOUNTAIN BIKE?
Too many to count, but all with the same theme. Riding through fields of wildflowers, riding with the deer and elk, hanging out near remote lakes or waterfalls and enjoying the moment with great friends.
- Do you have any suggestions for Beginner racers?
Just have fun.
