  1. What year did you start racing mountain bikes?

1994, my first mountain bike race was the 24hrs. of Cannan. Had been riding mountain bikes since 1992, freestyle bikes since 1986.

  2. What is your best result so far? (example: 3rd Place Senior Expert Men - Mt. Snow, VT - 2000)

6th Place Senior Sport maybe. Got 2nd in my only beginner race.

  3. What is the most and least number of hours that you train in a week? (Not zero but the least number of hours you actually train)

Anywhere from 45 minutes to 14 hours a week. I've never been know for my consistency.

  4. Name your favorite XC and/or DOWNHILL race course?

Wye Mills is always a treat.

  5. Name your favorite place to ride:

Rittenhouse Park. There's something special about that stretch of trail. Lots of good memories.

  6. What is the longest distance or number of hours that you have ridden XC in one day on a mountain bike? (EXCLUDING A 24 OR 12 HOUR RACE unless SOLO!)

Besides 24 hours races... probably 3.5 hours

  7. How much of your training is on the road?

    70%

  8. Do you cross train or use weights?

Not so much cross training, more cross dressing. I make sure I have my Nikey Pump Pumps and fishnets and hit the gym. As for weights I gain about 20lbs in the winter. ... Rock Climb and lift and run sporadically in the winter.

  9. Do you use supplements or sport drinks?

Mix Gatorade and water when I race, it makes my stomach cramp up really good and I forget about the pain in my legs. Post race supplements usually include a sampling of the contents of Dan Chopko's cooler.

  10. Do you do anything special (besides the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for an important race?

Cup of coffee and a donut.

    Nope

    Tight, windy single track.

  14. What aspect of mountain biking is the most fun for you?

Going out on a cool fall day, after the leaves have started falling, cruising through tight single track, and taking deep breaths. Life is good.

  15. What is your greatest moment (biggest rush) that you have experienced on your MOUNTAIN BIKE?

The last lap of the 24hrs of Cannan 1995 (rain year). Covered in mud, the downhill lined with people screaming, know that it was all over.
