How was your fitness level going into this race?
It wasn't great, I was still recovering from traveling and being sick and felt weak as a kitten, good thing the course was a finesse course and not a power course.
Were you happy with your first lap?
That wasn't great either. I had a bad start off the line and then went backwards up the hill through the start/finish. It got better once we hit the dirt but I could tell it was going to be a tough race from the beginning.
Were you strong from start to finish?
I was pretty consistent from start to finish, riding smooth, staying focused, and having strong technical skills were more important than pedaling hard.
Did you have any unusual problems?
Not really, I dumped it a couple times and lost a little time on the chasers but that's about it.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
The race went pretty well. I think they should make a second course for the elite racers so we get to ride on one that isn't so broken down. They also need to tape off the course better and make it safer so you don't get tangled up in the tape so easily. The podium needs to be done immediately following each elite race too.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
No
