Thank You Colonial Subaru for your support!First of all, Guy’s Racing Club sends a big “Thank you” out to the 300 riders who attended our event. Although Mother’s Day was not the best date, we were really happy with the turnout, and made sure that all of the “Moms” in attendance were given a flower for their willingness to show support on their day. Riders showed up from as far away as West “By God” Virginia.

The weather was on our side on a day that started unseasonably cool for the Beginners and progressed to hot and humid for the Experts. Course designer, Barry Caruso, set out to make a course that was not “road friendly” and he succeeded. There was plenty of tight singletrack, a few wicked descents, climbing on “Adam’s Switchback”, and more log crossings than you could count.

The Beginner Classes started the day off right. The sport’s future stars, the Juniors, were well represented with Chris Decarlo of Shirk’s turning in the fastest time. Justin Kast (Team Jami’s) was the fastest male rider, and Alaina Dietz (Cedar Bikes) was the fastest female.

The temps were starting to rise as the Sport riders set off under the Red Bull archway. Our own John Miller (Guy’s Racing) took the Vet II class. John still had 11 stitches in his temple from a crash at Start of the Elite Race Granouge. Tailwind added to their small squad lead with wins from Scott Reynolds (Master I) and Aaron Snyder (Jr X). Other winners were: Brian McCarthy (BikeLine), Peter Bruinmsa (Cycle Fit), Kyle Becker, and Chris Hinman (Master II). On the women’s side winners were: Heather Hanse and Wendy Bulotta (Beans).

We want to wish Dave Lowe (BikeLine) and his twisted left hand a speedy recovery.

The final group of the day to roll was our Expert/Elite group. While its always nice to see the Trek/VW racers, that means there is going to be a lot of suffering for the rest of the racers trying to match wheels. It was a good day for the Trek team with wins by Chris Eatough and Caitlyn Tuel, and a second place finish by Todd Helmick.

Todd said of his experience, “… I also would like to thank the mystery guy from bike line that helped me out with co2 cartridges before the race. Its always fun to race with such generous people as well as my fellow teammates with the Trek factory team. Great job to Caitlyn Tuel and Chris Eatough for their first place finishes, and again thanks for a great event.”

Ransom Weaver (Guy’s Racing) used the home course advantage to take 3 rd in the Elite race.

Finally, Kevin Causak and Richard McCurdy supplied wins for Tailwind and Cycle Fit.

Thanks everyone for a great day of racing, and thanks to our sponsors: Guy’s Bicycles in Feasterville, PA, and Colonial Subaru.
